JAE and AIO Core begin capital and business alliance

Updated: Feb 9

JAE (Japan Aviation Electronics Industry) will acquire a stake in AIO Core through underwriting AIO Core's fourth round of capital increase and jointly develop an automotive AOC (active optical cable) in anticipation of the future shift to optical in-vehicle networks.

Considering the expected evolution from ADAS to automated driving and the ongoing development of electric vehicles, the use of optics in in-vehicle information networks is being explored to enhance speed, reduce weight, and minimize noise. This technical alliance seeks to facilitate the joint development of in-vehicle AOC (active optical cable) by leveraging AIO Core's silicon photonics technology, as well as JAE’s connection technology, and experience in in-vehicle connectors.

A mock-up sample of the jointly developed product will be showcased at CEATEC 2023, taking place at Makuhari Messe (Hall 4, Key Devices Area, Booth No. K016), during the event held from October 17th (Tuesday).
