A new quantum dot laser operates at higher temperature of 105℃

Updated: Feb 7

In collaboration with the University of Tokyo, AIO Core has proposed a new structure of quantum dot laser that enables stable operation at high temperatures (over 150℃).

We have newly introduced a lateral potential barrier layer to the conventional quantum dot structure and demonstrated the higher temperature stable operation of quantum dot lasers.

In addition to the application of optical wiring to data centers and high-performance computers, we will pave the way for the introduction of optical wiring in the automotive field, show the path to carbon neutrality by 2050 through photonics-electronics convergence, and greatly contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
